Top Ten Tuesday: 10 Books I’ve Read in 2015 So Far

toptentuesday

Top Ten Tuesdays meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish and this week’s theme is the books I’ve read in 2015.

Here goes my list:

1. The Blade Itself (The First Law #1) by Joe Abercrombie (Still reading, halfway through already)
2. Fae: The Wild Hunt (Riven Wyrde Saga #1) by Graham Austin-King (Review here)
3. Prince of Fools (Red Queen’s War #1) by Mark Lawrence (Review here)
4. Emperor of Thorns (The Broken Empire #3) by Mark Lawrence (Review here)
5. Those Above by Daniel Polansky (Review here)
6. King of Thorns (The Broken Empire #2) by Mark Lawrence (Review here)
7. Prince of Thorns (The Broken Empire #1) by Mark Lawrence (Review here)
8. Slow Regard Of Silent Things (Kingkiller Chronicle #2.5) by Patrick Rothfuss (Review here)

Eh, that makes eight, not ten. I’ve been busy with my own writing and moved to a different apartment, as as result I haven’t been able to read as much as I’d like to.

  1. Great picks! 🙂
Have only read the first part of Broken Empire but it was good, something violent and it brought something new to fantasy genre. Patrick Rothfuss is gift to the world haha. Fae I haven’t read but I trust your taste here XD (to tbr list it goes…)

    • Thank you! I wrote spoiler-free reviews for both of the Rothfuss books. I read them in less than 2 weeks, they are really that good!

    • They are both great reads. One dark, one whimsical, both with superb prose. It gets better and better with the next books, see the reviews I wrote 🙂

    • Wow, I wish I could read that fast but my writing schedule and day job aren’t really allowing it. It takes me a week to finish a book, sometimes even two weeks.

    • Looks like you read literary fiction and no genre fiction, so I think you might like The Broken Empire by Mark Lawrence, that’s the one thing from that list literary fiction lovers would enjoy. It’s deep, dark, featuring a heavily damaged sociopathic protagonist. The other thing you might like is The First Law trilogy, it’s worth reading for that Sand dan Glokta character alone. Both series have superb characters.
